In a step-by-step process, learn the methods of oil painting while exploring the still-life genre. In order to remove fear and promote your artistic confidence, we'll address the foundations of value, warm and cool color relationships as well as methods for self-correction and problem solving. Conducted on Zoom, this online class will feature live demos, individual, and group critique.

Required Supplies

"Oil Paints: Titanium White Cadmium Yellow Light or Lemon Yellow Yellow Ochre Cadmium Red Alizarin Crimson Burnt Sienna Raw Umber Ultramarine Blue Cobalt Blue Terre Verte/Green Umber (optional) Other Supplies: Supports: 2 11”x 14” or 8"" x 10"" Canvas panels, stretched canvas, or primed panels Brushes: A mix of sizes, shapes, and bristle vs. synthetic brushes Yupo Paper Bright White Pad (for small studies, canvas paper or watercolor paper coated in Matte Medium also works) Palette (glass palette plus scraper or palette paper pad) Palette Knife Absorbent Rags (old t-shirts are great) Oil Painting Medium (Linseed Oil or Galkyd, Winsor and Newton, Liquin for faster drying) Odorless Mineral Spirits (Gamblin Gamsol is best) Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank and/or a Small Jar Brush Washer (Brush Cleaner, Baby Oil, or Soap) " • Easel or table top. • Paper towels • microphone and camera enabled computer • ipad or smart tablet. • smart phone (android or IOS) • Strong internet connection • Excited Attitude!
