Intermediate
Go beyond the basics to achieve realistic portraits and figures drawn from professional art model photographs as reference. You will study anatomy, proportion, volume, and form, and uncover solutions to common drawing challenges such as foreshortening, facial expression, and the placing of the figure in an environment through a variety of short gesture poses and longer pose drawings. Lectures, demonstrations, and group critiques will supplement in-class teaching. Students will work both at home and in class to finish their pieces.
