In this practicum you will join the full-time Contemporary Landscape Atelier students on their scheduled plein air field days, every other week, on Thursdays.
Schedule: Field plein air painting days
- 9:30am - 4:30pm, every other Thursday (5 per quarter, Fall - Spring quarters)
- Fall sessions: 9/12, 9/26, 10/10, 10/24, 11/7

What to expect:
Demos, critiques and instruction will be given in every session, along with guidance and direction for the day’s focus. The locations will be determined at the instructor’s discretion, but will be within King County. Plein air field days will be held rain or shine, unless the weather is severe. Locations and subject matter will range from wide open spaces, to urban scenes.
This practicum is intended to provide thorough and consistent training and direction in plein air painting practices throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for practicum students to join the full-time Contemporary Landscape Atelier students in the field to build community and skills.
This practicum serves to be a resource to those wanting to improve their plein air practice but cannot make the time commitment necessary for the full-time program. It is also a great resource for figurative or still life, or general studio artists to get consistent cross training.
