Portrait Drawing with special techniques in pastel pencil. Focus will be on materials and drawing methods. Lessons include proportion, structure, light & shadow, and color choices. Pastel pencils are convenient and often easier to use than chalk pastels. Students will work from photo references, provided. Open to all levels, beginners welcome.
Required Supplies
- Box cutter or X-acto knife
- Lead pointer (or similar sandpaper block)
- 18 x 24 drawing board with clips
- Variety of erasers (kneaded, white click eraser, etc)
- 18 x 24 pastel paper
- 2 each of the following:
- Stabilo Carb Othello; 1400/105, /681, /655, /100
- Faber Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils; 1122-177, -140, -267
Students will need access to a printer
