Plein Air Sunsets

Plein air sunset and late-evening sky painting workshop. Sunsets, whether on a clear evening sky or accompanied by clouds, provide a unique opportunity to capture colors in the sky that are both fleeting and unusual. We will experience the joys and challenges of painting a sunset, from life! I will introduce some strategies for being prepared for capturing THAT moment as the sun is setting. This workshop will be taught in oils, but any painting medium is welcome. We will start our weekly sessions by setting up, planning and predicting, and doing some warm up paintings leading to the sunset event. Our structured sessions will consist of short demonstrations, plenty of time to paint and prepare, and critiques and feedback. 

These sunset sessions will run as long as the weather permits regardless of sky conditions (clouds or no clouds). Evening light and sky painting can be useful and beautiful to paint and experience even on cloudy days, especially on cloudy days.
