Support Sculpture
With Gage's move to South Lake Union, we are thrilled to announce the relocation of our Sculpture program to Georgetown’s Equinox Community. This move presents a unique opportunity to transform our program into a multifaceted and interdisciplinary hub for figurative sculpture, unmatched in the region.

Space to expand
For the past 20 years, Gage’s Sculpture program has been housed in a small classroom on Capitol Hill. The centerpiece of this program has been the Magrath Sculpture Atelier, a part-time, multi-year figure sculpture intensive. However, with the move to South Lake Union, it became clear that the dust and noise of our sculpture programs would not be suitable for the new space.
The new studio at Equinox Factory will not only perfectly accommodate the Magrath Sculpture Atelier but also integrate with the Georgetown, Drawing, and Modern Color Ateliers to create a fully functioning satellite campus—Gage South. The new “Studio B” is ideal for our current sculpture program and will allow us to expand with new classes and opportunities for collaboration with world-class artisans in stone, metal, and ceramics. These resources, rarely offered outside of traditional universities, will make Gage Sculpture truly unique in the region and beyond.
Unlike other U.S. figurative sculpture programs that focus mainly on modeling skills, our enriched Atelier offers a broader approach. It includes training in stone carving, metalwork, and more, equipping students with the tools and knowledge needed for successful careers as professional artists.
Help grow our sculpture program
Your support is vital to make this expansion a reality. Contributions will help us:
- Upgrade our 30-year-old kiln to a larger front-loading model for greater accessibility.
- Create a multi-use classroom and model space to double our student capacity.
- Add facilities for electric and gas welding, fabrication, plaster and rubber mold making.
- Develop vocational arts training programs for aspiring artists of all ages.
- Provide tuition support to ensure accessibility regardless of financial means.
