LOCATION NOTE: This class will be taking place at our brand new South Lake Union location, 2107 Westlake Ave.


Learn to draw realistic portraits with a dynamic sense of light, volume, and structure from live art models. You will study anatomy, proportion, and form and uncover solutions to common drawing challenges such as portrait construction and capturing a model’s likeness with accuracy. Lectures, demonstrations, and individual critiques will be provided during weekly lessons.

Required Supplies

  • Drawing Board
  • Sketchbook
  • Strathmore/Newsprint Drawing Paper (18x24 inches or approximate)
  • Canson Mi-Teintes Toned Drawing Paper (19x25 inches or approximate)
  • Vine Charcoal Sticks * Nitram Vine Charcoal (H & HB)
  • General’s Charcoal Pencils
  • Ballpoint Pen (for note-taking and & sketching)
  • Eraser

Optional: graphite pencils and conté
