Are you an intermediate or advanced student who likes the structure of a class, but want to work on your own projects? Do you enjoy feedback in a supportive and creative environment? Join a group of your artistic peers for a weekly painting session in which you work on your own projects, while getting feedback from veteran Gage teaching artist Jeffrey Simmons. Jeffrey has been exhibiting his highly inventive abstractions in galleries and museums since 1995, and he brings both his wealth of experience and insightful comments on your particular work to the class. This class specializes in abstraction, which potentially includes a broad range of styles, from the geometric to the splashy and expressive. Wherever you start, this class will push you further in your own painting journey. The four-hour format is designed for adequate in-class work time. The instructor has experience with a wide range of 2-D painting and drawing materials, and is willing to make suggestions and give demonstrations.
