The Atelier Primer is a part-time program modeled after the Georgetown Atelier's full time curriculum. This exciting program will teach the classical foundations of drawing and painting from life, and how to extend from the Observational into the Imaginative. Whether you're a beginner interested in learning the techniques of observational drawing and painting, or you are an intermediate/advanced student who wants to improve or keep your skills sharp, the Atelier Primer is perfect for you. This evening class is ideal for those who cannot attend classes during the day. Tuesday nights focus on skill building from still lifes, observational studies from plaster casts and master copies. Thursday nights we apply the same techniques to a live model, and focus heavily on constructive anatomy. Led by instructors Riley Doyle and Tiffany Dae, alumni and instructors of the full time atelier, the Atelier Primer is comprised of hands-on demos, lectures, and individual critiques.
