Gestural Figure Sculpting in Clay
This class focuses on creating dynamic design flow and gesture. After a brief overview of the human body plan and practice with short gesture poses, students will create a 1/4 life sized figure from the live model. The relatively small scale, combined with the use of water based clay will allow students to work with spontaneity and explore their personal voice while enhancing movement and narrative in the pose. The work will be suitable for firing in a kiln.
