Intro to Egg Tempera
Dominique Medici
$430
Discover the luminous beauty of egg tempera, one of the oldest and most refined painting techniques. You’ll learn the traditional methods used by Renaissance masters like Botticelli and Fra Angelico. Students will learn to grind and emulsify pigments with egg yolk, and paint their own small tempera study while exploring layering, glazing, and fine brushwork. We’ll also cover drawing transfer methods, underpainting techniques, and how to achieve the distinctive luminosity and precision unique to this medium. Egg tempera rewards patience and sensitivity—perfect for artists who love drawing, craftsmanship, and the meditative rhythm of traditional painting.
