Metal point drawing is one of the oldest drawing techniques in Western art. Using a fine metal stylus on a prepared surface it creates a delicate, permanent lines that richen in tone over time. In this introduction class, we’ll cover basic tools and surfaces, mark-making, and value development through careful observation and controlled technique. Because metal point cannot be erased, the process encourages intention, patience, and close observation. This course is ideal for students who want to slow down and explore a medium that rewards focus, patience and subtlety.
