This class will cover basic encaustic painting technique for the encaustic and non-encaustic artist who wants to paint images with the ancient medium of encaustic. Do you like immediacy and flexibility? This medium is for you! In this class students will work from photo references that they provide.
Class topics include:
- Using a heated pallet
- Applying the paint, and scraping to remove it
- Painting on panel and paper
- Using drawing materials with encaustic paint
- Fusing with a heat gun or torch
Required Supplies
$60 materials fee paid to instructor will cover all materials and tools needed.
