This workshop provides a great introduction to the medium and how to use it. It will cover basic encaustic painting techniques for both encaustic and non-encaustic artists interested in creating images with this ancient medium. Do you enjoy immediacy and flexibility? If so, this medium is perfect for you! During the workshop, students will work from photo references they provide.
Class topics include:
- Supports
- Using a heated palette
- Mixing colors
- Applying and scraping off the paint
- Fusing with a heat gun or torch.
Required Supplies
Materials for the workshop will be available for students for $60 material fee, paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class.
