Watercolor Pet Portraits
Paint your fur babies! Learn the steps, techniques, and tips to render your dog, cat, or bunny in watercolor. Capture your pets personality and imbue your watercolor with light and movement. Required Supplies
140lb 100% cotton watercolor paper. 9x12 Blick Premier cotton cold press block.
Watercolor paints, professional pan set or tubes with palette.
- Brand: Winsor & Newton Professional, Sennelier, or Daniel Smith.
- At minimum, primary colors and Payne’s Gray.

Assorted round watercolor brushes assorted sizes 2-10.
- Recommended: Princeton Select series round or Princeton Velvetouch round.
1 flat watercolor wash brush size 1 inch
1 pencil
1 roll of 3M Scotch Delicate Surface Painter's Washi Tape .7 or Holbein soft tape
Paper towels
Scissors
1 Sakura Gelly Roll, White pen, size 8 or 10
1 Pebeo Brand drawing gum masking fluid pen 0.7mm
1 masking fluid eraser, aka rubber cement eraser
1 container for water
Saral Brand transfer paper or other graphite transfer paper. MUST BE ERASABLE.
Pictures of pets! Bring 3-6 images of a pet. These should be printed in color, large, full-bleed, and on standard copy paper. Pictures must not be blurry.
