Learn drawing and watercolor techniques to simplify complex landscape scenes and create charming and clear images. Develop your own unique artistic shorthand to reduce overwhelming detail & add character to a painting. We will explore the Pacific Northwest as well as other parts of the world using Street View and photo references. In the first classes we will use dry media, and then move into watercolor in later weeks.
Required Supplies
waterproof pen. recommended: Fudenosuke hard tipped brush pen with water-based pigment ink. (example: https://www.tombowusa.com/fudenosuke-brush-pen-fine-tip-black.html)
pencil (2B or HB)
eraser
sketchbook paper
watercolor paper (recommended: 120lb studio Fabriano paper, cold press)
masking tape
watercolor kit of choice
+ a tube of dark neutral watercolor, e.g. black, indigo, or neutral tint
