Acquire and develop fundamental drawing skills. This introductory class emphasizes traditional drawing techniques including line, value, composition and linear perspective. Students will approach the still life and figure from observation and communicate ideas through a variety of black and white media. Topics covered:
• basic observation methods and skills
• basic drawing elements: line, shape, perspectives and space relationships, form, mass, texture, value & volume
• composition and space arrangement
• proportional relationships and measurements
