Drawing the human form can feel intimidating and stiff, but it can also be filled with energy, life, and gesture. Animators - the artists behind your favorite Saturday cartoons - know this better than many. They are masters at creating simple, energetic, and fun figures to dance across your TV. If you’ve ever felt that figure drawing wasn’t enjoyable, or you longed to have your drawings feel more “alive,” join us in this workshop to learn about gestural figure drawing through an animator’s lens. In this workshop we will talk about shapes, line of action, anatomy shortcuts, exaggeration and more. Each day will have dedicated time to practice what was discussed with instructor feedback. At the end of this course, you’ll have drawn sheets of gesture art and improved your confidence in fluid figure drawing like an animator.
