This course provides an in-depth exploration of the techniques and creative approaches for accurately and expressively depicting animals in art. Through a combination of theory, hands-on practice, and guided assignments, students will learn how to capture the unique personality, and movement of a variety of animals—from household pets to wild creatures.
The course emphasizes foundational drawing skills such as proportion, and gesture, from accurate depictions, to gestural ones. The curriculum also includes an exploration of historical and contemporary artists who specialize in animal representation, encouraging students to find inspiration and develop their unique artistic style.
