Instruction Medium: Watercolor Paint and more 

Capture the dynamic movements of water, reflections, and bubbles with watercolor. We will study how water reacts and moves over different surfaces using photos and videos. We will primarily paint in watercolor with experimentation with colored pencils and gouache.

Required Supplies

  • Watercolor Pad (Arches cold press for best results, Blick cold press is a good alternative)
  • Watercolor set (example for beginners set: Blick mixing tube set, 5 14ml tubes, Windsor & Newton Painting set, 12 8 ml tubes)
  • individual colors: cool yellow, warm yellow, warm red, cool red, cool blue, warm blue, cool green, warm green, sienna, ochre, black (optional)
  • Watercolor Brushes 
  • Plastic or ceramic palette
  • 2 cups for water
  • clean sponge or paper towel (for dabbing brush) 
  • Artist tape
  • Pencils 
  • Eraser
Optional:
  • Micron pens
  • Colored pencils
  • Gouache
  • Fine Mist spray bottle
