Explore the wonderful world of plants through botanical illustration! We will study the intricate forms, patterns, and colors of various botanical specimens through careful observational drawing and watercolor painting. Starting with graphite sketches, we will study leaf structures, practice capturing proportions, foreshortening and rendering details. We will then practice composing a botanical plate in micron pens, showing different views of our plants from inside and outside. Finally, we will bring our botanical illustrations to life with washes of watercolor!
