Gesture Sculpting in Clay

This course introduces the practice of gesture sculpting with clay. Working from a live model, students will learn to rapidly analyze and capture poses of 20 minutes, or even shorter. Focus will be on capturing the entire gesture with spontaneity, movement, emotion and storytelling. Historical examples will be shown along with live demos along with discussion of how this practice begins the process of creating longer and more finished pieces.
