Advance your nature illustration skills with the bold lines of pen and ink. In this class, we will practice inking techniques with micron pen, crowquill pens, india ink, and scratchboard. We will work from natural history specimens and photo references for our black and white illustrations.

Required Supplies

  • Bleedproof Paper (for example Borden & Riley Paris Bleedproof)
  • Micron pens, range of nib sizes (for example 01, 05, 08)
  • Speedball Crowquill holder & #102 nib
  • India ink Jars for holding ink
  • Ampersand Claybord (min 5x7)
  • Scratching tools (needles, dental tools, scratchboard tools, etc)

Optional:

  • Natural history specimens
  • Magnifying glass
  • Paper towels
