Letter from Kathleen Allen, Executive Director | October 2024
Expanding and investing in our new space
This summer, we completed a momentous transition, moving from our home of over 20 years into a new space purpose-built for fostering community, creativity, and arts education.
We celebrated our grand opening on September 7 with a land acknowledgment by Ken Workman, a descendant of Chief Sealth. Key elected officials highlighted Gage’s role in creating a vibrant community. The ribbon-cutting featured eight individuals representing Gage’s diverse spirit.
Our belief that “artists are made, not born” guided our investment in this new space. We are expanding artmaking through accessible programs such as drop-in classes, intergenerational workshops, and Art Labs, while maintaining our favorite and long-standing offerings.
We need your support.
Make a gift today to ensure that Gage is always an accessible place where all ages and backgrounds can thrive.
A parent's gratitude for Gage
Gage was there for Anna’s daughter, a dedicated young artist guided by talented instructors in the supportive environment of the Teen Summer Intensive program:
"I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to you for awarding [my daughter] a scholarship to attend the Portfolio intensive this summer at Gage...The support she has received has made it possible for her to pursue her passion for creating and learning about art and developing her friendships and community. I’m truly grateful for the generosity and commitment you’ve shown in nurturing all the young talented folks that come to Gage.”
- Anna Matuszewski, Summer Camp Student Parent
Can I count on you to make a gift today to help more students like Anna’s daughter? Your generosity WILL change lives.
Warmly,
Kathleen Allen
