In this 5-week evening class each student will learn to construct and observe a still life scene of their choosing. We will be reducing our palette to just simple black, white, and grey in order to get to the root of the image composition and design. We will continue to tweak our still life set up in order to find a powerful and dynamic composition to work from. Students will receive a detailed introduction to the medium of oil paint and learn how to mix and apply paint directly to the surface through multiple quick painted studies. This class is suitable for beginners and advanced students alike!
