In this capturing light in painting course, we will explore such themes as candy apples, crystals/gems, metals, pumpkins, scarabs, skulls, water, glass, and dried floral. Instructed by Willow Heath, your friendly neighborhood watercolor witch, you'll learn the methods and magic to imbue your watercolors with depth and luminosity while painting subjects that both reflect and absorb light. Fine tune your watercolor glazing techniques and hone your artistic knowledge with live narrated demonstrations, class discussions, and painting in a relaxed welcoming art studio environment.
Required Supplies
• 140lb 100% cotton watercolor paper, Blick Premier Watercolor Block.
• Watercolor paints, professional pan set or tubes with palette. Brand: Winsor & Newton Professional, Sennelier, or Daniel Smith. At minimum, primary colors and Payne’s Gray. RECOMMENDED SETS https://tinyurl.com/yck88kww OR https://a.co/d/08Uh9dhG
• Assorted round watercolor brushes sizes 2-10. Recommended: Princeton Select series round or Princeton Velvetouch round.
• 1 flat watercolor wash brush size 1 inch.
• 1 pencil and kneaded eraser
• 1 roll of 3M Scotch Delicate Surface Painter's Washi Tape .7 or Holbein soft tape
• Paper towels
• Scissors
• Pencil sharpener
• 1 Sakura Gelly Roll, White pen size 8 or 10
• 1 .07MM Pebeo Brand drawing gum masking fluid pen
• 1 masking fluid eraser, aka rubber cement eraser
• 1 container for water
• Saral Brand transfer paper graphite transfer paper. MUST BE ERASABLE and graphite gray.
• Optional 1 small set of Prismacolor Premier or Faber-Castell Polychromos color pencils
