Required Supplies

  • Paint - A full chromatic palette is recommended:
    • Red
    • Orange
    • Yellow
    • Green,
    • Blue
    • Violet
    • Magenta
    • White

The pigments the instructor will be using: Cadmium Red (light or medium), Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Yellow Light, Phthalo Green, Phthalo Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Dioxazine Violet, Quinacridone Magenta, Titanium White.

  • Assortment of Brushes, bristle and smooth. Instructor prefers Rounds, sizes 2, 4, 6 (Princeton Ashley; Princeton Imperial)
  • Large Palette for Mixing (glass is great, at least 16 x 20")
  • Palette Knife
  • Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits), with small dish or squeeze bottle
  • Small Jug of Dorland’s Wax Medium
  • Surface for Painting on: 2 sheets of Arches Oil Paper, 16 x 20” or preferred surface
  • Board for Mounting paper to
  • 24" ruler and Pencil
  • Triangles/ straightedges
  • Paper Towels or Rags
